Ant Alliance’s First Show (and is in Jamacia!)

Tuesday, January 30th, 2007

Many thanks to Dani, Dylan, Linc, Lindsey, and everyone who made it out to the Specific Heats House last weekend. The show was, in a word, ridiculously-awesome and we’re glad that it went off so well. Never one to rest, Eric is working on putting together a dance-punk show for February that, from the looks of it, should also rock like no one’s business.

In other news — Professor Charlie Nesson, spiritual godfather to Ant Alliance, has recently opened up a ridiculous opportunity for Antenna Alliance in Jamaica. He’s been working for some time now on a project to install a functional radio station and recording studio in a Jamaican prison. That station has recently become operational, and he wants Ant Alliance to handle their product and distribute in the United States.

This is so awesome that I’m going to pause for a moment.

We’re still working it out, but we’ll keep you folks posted as more details come in.

Awesome Collective CC Drum Track Experiment

Saturday, January 27th, 2007

Dave Rand of Robot Goes Here, is working on an awesome project to have people independently write and record songs off the same drum beat.

If you’d like to take part and get the beats that we’re working with, shoot the Ant Alliance an e-mail at antalliance@gmail.com. We’d eventually like to release a comp package/do a release party with everyone’s work.

Some examples of tracks that have been done on this are available here.

Rock! Hope to see everyone at the show tonight!

Many thanks also to all the bands that have been writing in after our piece with NPR. We’ve been hectic getting everything set up — but we’ll be listening to Myspaces/demos in the coming weeks and getting back to you about putting together some work with Ant Alliance. In the meanwhile, keep us posted on what’s going on with you guys!
